Two years ago, I profiled a cute little bakeshop in Edmonton, Duchess Bake Shop, and this year when I returned to the shop deliciousness, I discovered an expansion. They now have an ACTUAL SHOP! Cue the squeals. I was so excited, I kind of went berserk in the store, and probably embarrassed my friend, just a tad bit. The little shop is attached to Duchess Bake Shop and called Provisions. Fitting considering they carry everything from unique organic baking ingredients, to cook books and bakeware.
I picked out their house tea: Duchess Blend Tea. Suitable name as it is a blended tea, and is an earl grey tea made by Duchess themselves. This delicious tea is the perfect blend to lift up your Thursday afternoon spirits. Filled with the delicious taste of lavender, it will calm you right now, refocus your mind and get you completing those last minute assignments before Friday. Earl grey is a staple English tea, and I recommend it anytime you need a little aromatic lift throughout the day to wake you up.
Provisions, also has various baking goods. Of which I am most excited for, is their vanilla bean paste! It’s not easy to find, and I was jumping for joy when I saw it on the shelf. I will definitely be picking some up before Christmas to make my little shortbread cookies! The shop doesn’t carry your usual bake goods, from agar agar to invert sugar to maple butter, you’re sure to find those elusive ingredients for your most delicious recipes. I can’t wait to share some with you guys!
