Christmas Countdown: Christ My Awesome Saviour

It’s that time of year again! It’s almost Christmas! This holiday is special to many people and is a time for family, friends and enjoying the company of each other. For many people it means a lot of different things, but for me, it is one of the most amazing celebrations of the year. It is a time where we (Christians) celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. This Christmas, it has been made even more special, as today I get baptized–a public proclamation and official ceremony to show that I am a Christian.

Christmas certainly is an exciting time of year, with gifts, big family dinners and lots of fantastic Christmas movies. However, sometimes we forget that behind it all, it is a day to remember that Jesus was born to save us all from sin so that we may have a relationship with God. It certainly is an exciting time to be celebrating the birth of Jesus, but more importantly to know and understand what his birth means.

Jesus being born fulfilled the prophesies of old, he was God sent to be born and to live on earth to declare and teach us things about our God in heaven. I use to only thing Christmas was a holiday for families and for sharing fun times. In a way it is, but it is also because of Jesus, that we celebrate the gift and blessing God has given to us. We do not have to suffer eternal damnation, and instead can have eternal life, just by believing and accepting Christ as our saviour. Quite an amazing gift I must say.

There are 10 days until Christmas, and I want to share with you all the wonderful teas, gift ideas, games and activities we can all indulge in. But first, I wanted to share with you the most important aspect of Christmas to me, and that is that God sent us his son, to live among us, so that through his works and actions, we would believe in God and have a personal relationship with him.
